Appropriate Care for a Common Knee Condition: Osgood-Schlatter: One of the most common causes of knee pain in active adolescents is the condition known as Osgood-Schlatter. While frequently termed a "disease," it is actually a benign and self-limiting inflammation of the growing apophysis. Osgood-Schlatter is caused by biomechanical factors and will usually respond rapidly to appropriate conservative care.
